Downtown Austin Alliance Strategic Plan

Uncommon Bridges (as BDS Planning) supported the strategic planning process for the Downtown Austin Alliance (DAA), which was completed in the spring of 2023. We brought together a leadership team of decision-makers, DAA staff, and the broader advisory board, to refine its vision, mission and guiding principles, and to identify a set of strategic priorities for emphasis over the next five years.

Through close and frequent cooperation with staff and board leadership, the group ultimately produced a guiding document that they both feel proud of and accountable to. The final plan helped the organization articulate its dedication to keeping downtown Austin a place for everyone, with a focus on public space experiences, mobility, activating places through creative arts, and addressing affordability challenges. The plan also helped the DAA focus its attention on large-scale transformative downtown projects and act as a trusted leader and influencer in all matters related to downtown.
